Our story began in January, 1993, when Merit was established in a small rented office and showroom in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Selling overhead projectors to schools, the seeds of our passion for creating impact through visual means were sewn!
Over the next two years, the founders observed a need for a specialist supplier of portable display and exhibition equipment. This was a supplier that didn't just have a product range and a warehouse, but that cared about building a partnership with clients and providing display solutions that would have an impact in a busy and developing world. The next major development was to offer a design, manufacture and installation service of exhibition stands for sale and hire.
The growth required investing in larger premises and warehouse to fulfil the demands of the business and, shortly after, led to the opening of our branch in Coventry (later to become our Central Head office and production base) and a further office in Glasgow.
The founders continued to focus on developing a team of experts that could provide value for our clients.
Our success has been nurtured year-on-year by retaining and increasing our client base. And, today, we continue to thrive by providing you with innovation, creativity and dedicated customer care.
Our people make up the foundation of our company. Everyone is a proven specialist in their area of expertise. We have no heroes or soloists; they don’t fit within our culture. We encourage people to be innovative and bring fresh thinking to the table whenever they can.
